Friday Overnights (ON):

An extended time for kids to play games, sing, build forts, roast marshmallows, and sleep outside in the woods! Dinner is provided, but no breakfast. Children are picked up Saturday at 8:00 AM. Overnights are subject to cancellation in case of inclement weather. Overnight weeks for the 2018 season are weeks 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 & 8. No extra fee for Overnights. This event is optional. We ask parents to sign their child up for the Overnight during the corresponding camp week. This can be done at the registration table.

Packing for Overnights is simple:

Campers attending the Fircreek Overnight simply need to pack an extra set of clothes, towel, toothbrush, sleeping bag, pillow, favorite stuffed animal (of course), and any personal items they may need for a “successful” night away from home.

Campers come to camp on Friday morning prepared to spend the night. Their overnight bag, sleeping bag, pillow, etc., are stored together with their other cabin mates’ gear and placed under their counselor’s name for easy distribution at the end of the day.

For many of the campers attending the Fircreek Overnight, it will be their first experience sleeping outside or even away from home. It is our desire to partner with parents in helping each child to have a successful “first overnight” experience. It is quite normal for children to get a little nervous around bedtime (8:00 PM at Fircreek); this can often shake a tired child’s confidence. The Fircreek Summer Staff is trained to be ready and very tender during these times, with a child’s best in mind. In the case that your child experiences homesickness, we will try to help your child have a successful stay, but will not hesitate to call you if your child needs to hear the comforting sound of Mom or Dad’s voice. On occasion, a parent may need to come and pick up their child to sleep at home, though we’ll make sure your child knows that we’re proud of them for trying.
